And not a bad way for a beginner to approach jazz chords in a more rock-oriented song.

Advice for jazz chord first-timers...

The Em9 and Bm9 are the same shape.  For the Em9, put your forefinger at the 5th fret and your other fingers

on the 7th fret strings.  Then when you slide down to the Bm9, keep your fingers lightly on the strings

so you don't lose your place but don't press down as you go, and lift up your forefinger.  Slide back to the

Em9 the same way.

For the Gmaj7, A6 and Bm6, you could use the thumb-over method if your fretboard isn't too wide.

Put your thumb over the top of the fretboard, pressing down on the 6th string, and just far enough over to

touch the 5th string with the tip of your thumb to mute it.

The F#madd9 and Emadd9 are again the same shape.  You can practice 2-string barre-ing on the F#madd9 by

pressing your forefinger kind of sideways over the 2nd fret, while your ring and pinkie hold the two strings

at the 4th fret.  Then slide your fingers down to the Emadd9, once again lightly touching the strings

and lifting your forefinger, so that the Emadd9 is just your ring and pinkie on the 2nd fret.  Then slide

back the same way.

By the way, barre-ing is much easier if you put your thumb right behind where your fingers are

and "pinch" the guitar neck.
